Judy Herrmann and Michael Starke founded their studio in January 1989. By 1994 they had been named "up and coming photographers" by Art Direction magazine. Their work has appeared in a wide range of award annuals including Graphis, PDN/Nikon Self Promotion Awards, Pix Digital Annuals, and How International Design Annuals. Projects they've completed for clients have received numerous Addy awards and been featured in Communication Arts, Photo District News, How, Photo-Electronic Imaging, Digital Imaging, Big Picture and Digital Capture magazines.

Since 2000, they have been recognized as "digital visionaries" by Olympus America and works they've produced using Olympus equipment have been exhibited in New York, Tokyo, Hawaii, Chicago and San Francisco and featured in a multitude of publications including American Photo, Studio Photography & Design, American Eagle In-flight Magazine and Japan's Yomiuri America.
